Im Beatrice Kennedy, but everyone calls me Beat I live a low key life, fresh out of college and drifting from town to town until I find my home I love music, and how it stirs even the deepest and untouched parts of your soul Depending on what you choose to listen to, would depend on what it touches Its the drug we all damper in, only different strains My strain is Jazz The smooth instrumental strums that take over me The sound of cigar smoke, bourbon and an old dusty fedora hat My strain wasnt rap, and it sure wasnt laced with some A class shit like murky blue eyes casted down from the Lord and the Devils handcrafted smile I knew who he wasthe whole world did One fateful night set off a chain of events, events that no one was coming back from You cant save people who dont want to be saved You cant pull them up from the ocean when theyve latched themselves to an anchor Love was my anchor, destruction was the water that was drowning me, and the rope that was so tightly clamped around my ankles, was woven with the lyrics of Aeron Romanov Reed, also known as, Manik He steals hearts from all around the world, but one night, he stole something that wasnt his to steal Me....

Manik (English Edition) Reviews
In true Amo Jones fashion was this an unputdownable and awesome story that nobody should miss out on, especially when you're looking for a crazy ride only this author can deliver. The blurb didn't give much away and as always I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into with this new book from Amo Jones. I only knew that I had to be open for everything and be ready once again for a twisted story that has me questioning so much and drive me crazy until I finally get all the answers. Well, I wasn't so far off because the characters sure as hell knew what it meant to be dark and dangerous, badass but sexy as hell. It's hard to review this book without giving much away but Manik was a great mix of Raze and Bishop. It was an unputdownable book although the story was slower at a few chapters especially in the first half of the book which I had to consider in my rating. It wasn't an instant love with me but with every little bit Aeron gave and showed me himself did I fall deeper. I am sure that he will have a lot of readers swooning and cursing at the same time but melt and break a lot of hearts in the process too.I liked that Beat was such a badass heroine although she sometimes seemed a bit unsure of herself and what to do and therefore acted overdramatic at times, but who could blame her with all that happened and with a kidnapper and stalker like Manik breathing down her neck. He was a walking contradiction and I wasn't surprised by all the shocking revelations I didn't see coming in this book. The author once again delivered a suspenseful and twisted story that had me captured until the end and I loved how she spun everything together into an intricate pattern and left no questions unanswered. This is a must-read for all the Amo Jones fans but also a perfect way to get to know this author's writing style if she's new to you. I recommend this book for all the lovers of dark romance and mafia stories that like to get hot and heavy with the characters in one way or another.
I don’t know how she does it, but no matter the level of darkness. Level of messed up. Or the type of tough situations placed in her books, Amo has me devouring the entire thing, while questioning myself the entire time. I’m pretty sure it’s the reason I love reading her books.“How can someone so achingly beautiful hold a soul so dark. Or maybe that’s how it works, maybe the most beautiful faces hide the darkest souls.”MANIK—I was freakishly obsessed with it—and him, the actual character. This book had a twisted storyline that was intense, jarring, and had surprisingly tender moments that made my heart flutter. Then there were the ever famous Amo slasher-chick moments that were gruesome, yet I found myself unable to look away.I honestly don’t remember me ever being so utterly intrigued with a character as dark or complex as Aeron Romanov-Reed, aka MANIK. One second I wanted to hate him, I should have hated him, but I didn’t. His dark side drew me in, and I loved every second and every layer we experienced with his character.“...he’s a dark knight, I have enough light inside of me to show him the way.”And Beat...what a fierce woman she was. She never once broke under the force of her situations — simply bent or molded to them, and gave MANIK a run for his money. I love how she had him twisted up inside, thinking one way, yet making him feel another. There were times I questioned her actions or reasonings, but at the same time I kind of understood where she was coming from.MANIK is a dark, dangerous, decadent read. Downright addictive. It has easily become not only my favorite book by Amo, but also one of my favorite reads of 2018! This was a crazy, insane ride of a book, but if you’re a reader who loves dark romances, then I highly suggest reading this one.
This is the newest release by one of my all time favorite authors and I literally read this in one sitting since I couldn't stop! Consider yourself warned! Do yourself a huge favor and completely clear your schedule before cracking this one open since this author's books have a wonderful tendency to make the outside world disappear while you're reading them. This is Aeron/Manik and Beatrice/Beats's story and this one is like Romeo and Juliet on crack, in the best way possible of course! This is not some soppy love story full of hearts and flowers and I love this author just for that alone! Then you add in all of the darkness, the danger and one very intense and dramatic backstory and you get an incredibly addictive story full of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat right up until the very end! Oh and what a perfect ending too! I so did not see that one coming! I loved the fact that I couldn't easily figure out where the author was going with this one. Manik's sister Kat was pretty awesome too and someone I'd love to have as a best friend. To say they have an interesting family is a serious understatement. That is unless you consider shooting your family members to be just another daily occurrence, which I guess in this case they do. Manik is hands down a must read and I highly recommend it to anyone, especially those who like their love stories a bit twisted. I reviewed this for Reviews from the Heart.
A darkly delicious romance that kept me enthralled until the very last word!Beat was a drifter. She has no family, no roots. She’s tough when she needs to be, resilient because she had no choice and easy to love because she’s awesome. Being at the wrong place, at the wrong time, brings forth a series of events and leads her to Manik.Manik was a possessive alpha male that I couldn’t help but love in spite of his darkness. He is a very successful rapper but also part of the Russian Mafia. He has a a dark side that comes out when he needs to do a job for the Bratva.Manik takes Beat captive as he was ordered to do and so their story begins. So many secrets. Everything is done for a reason. Someone is pulling the strings and orchestrating their own agenda. You’re about to be taken on a ride with many unexpected twists.I read this book in one sitting from cover-to-cover! I thoroughly enjoy dark romance and this author delivered on every level. It was super hot and sexy, with a cast of characters that I enjoyed. It also kept me guessing because I never knew what was going to happen next. If you enjoy dark romance, you will not be disappointed.
You thought you know Amo Jones and her writing... Think again.Manic was a book that overtook my mind, body and soul.At first, I thought that I was just going to read a few chapters and continue a day later. My brain said otherwise... At around 1a.m. I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep to save my life. So the inevitable happened and I started reading. Before I knew what was going on I was a blubbering mess at 3 a.m. which is something I haven't had happening about a book for a very long time. The content of this book is utterly compelling and out of this world unique.Again, as with all Amo's books, I cannot and will not divulge any information whatsoever about the plot.Trust me on this when I say you wanna go in head first. When you think you have things figured out it'll only make your head hurt and the tears flow harder. So without further ado I tell you to kick back get a bottle of booze and enjoy the m'fin ride.
