A German Reader: Die Gemeinsamkeit (German Readers 30) Reviews
Tolles Buch. Spannend und unterhaltsam. Schöne Abwechslung beim lernen. Ja, die deutsche Fassung ist manchmal "eckig", doch der Nutzen überwiegt. Danke
Praise to Markus Lahm. His books invite you to playing really interesting games: find all the spelling errors, typing errors and grammar errors. Another option for the advanced learner: find all his newly invented words that haven’t existed in the German language, like “der Busmarsch”. Or find a meaning in sentences like “Je weiter sie wegfuhren, desto näher kamen die Straßen heran.”The books of Markus Lahm can be fun but you better don’t use them for learning German.
The German text is a literal and very badly made translation from the English original. It contains numerous mistakes which include wrong verb forms, wrong choice of vocabulary and use of English word order instead of German word order. 25 pages of this for over $3 is an outrage. One star is too much for this book. Anyone trying to improve their German by reading this book will achieve the opposite.
