A German Reader: Die Hexe (German Readers 11) Reviews
Meine Englischkenntnisse sind leider sehr eingestaubt, und so war es mir möglich sie ein bisschen auf zu frischen.Klein, fein und nett geschrieben. Und die Übersetzung immer da.Grade auch für Kinder gut geeignet, die ihre ersten Schritte in dieser Sprache tätigen.Danke, dass ich es in einer Gratisaktion lesen durfte.
The series of German Readers by Lahm are great. The title, Die Hexe, is a little misleading as it is the title of the first of three very separate and individual short stories contained in one book. The entire series is that way. After reading this book I have bought several others in the series. I found the stories to be very interesting; interesting enough that I now first read the story in English and then go back and re-read it in German. As I am not all that proficient in reading German I found that reading the story first in English helped with what the story was about and then I could comprehend the German with greater ease. The stories are great in any language. They do actually keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what the ending will be. They vary from science fiction to plain old "feel good" stories. I will be buying all the stories in the series and hope more are forthcoming.
Another "German" Reader whose text seems to be translated by Google. The German text is a literal translation which is often not understandable to a German speaker unless one knows what the English original means.
