Since it is so frequently updated, it seems like it will be extremely helpful on our walk. Extremely detailed maps of each section mean we May not have to buy another map. Details of all kinds useful to walkers, about scenery, turns with specific instructions, sights to see or not, and whether or not to pack a lunch for certain sections. Lots of color pictures, very enticing. My husband is much more interested in this trip now that he read this book.

It's a helpful and well-written book. Biggest drawback is that it is a bit bulky to keep in your pocket while walking the wall, and the maps don't show anything that isn't directly on the path. I think an accommodation guide coupled with the Harveys map make for better planning tools.

The book was extremely helpful in planning our successful 115 mile hike which included the trail and side trips to various fort sites. The book is a must read for a must-take hike across England and back in time.
